Abstract

Female Sexual Dysfunction among Reproductive Health Practitioners at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital

Abstract
Objective: to investigate female sexual dysfunction among reproductive-aged health practitioners at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital.
Method: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study using primary data gained from validated Indonesian version of Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaire, and filled by nurses and midwives. Subject characteristics include age, educational background, address, partner’s age, parity, marriage duration, having given birth in last 6 months, perineal trauma history and diabetes mellitus. If the FSFI score was ≤26,5, sexual dysfunction was present. An analysis involving each characteristic was performed using chi-squared test, Fisher’s Exact test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. P<0.05 was statistically significant.
Results: Of 239 respondents, 100/239 had sexual dysfunction (41.8%). The dominant characteristics were the following: aged 25-30 y.o (33.1%); having a diploma (59%); being a nurse (80.8%), working in the wards (64.4%); living in one’s own house (74.9%), partner’s age of 35-40 years old (25.1%), having at least 2 children (63.2%), having been married <10 years (51.9%). There was no significant difference between each characteritic (p>0.05).
